Industrial visit organized by K.K.Wagh institute of Engineering Education and Research for the students of Robotics and Automation Engineering [4th SEM] in order to get the practical knowledge about “advanced technology used in machining processes like Turning, Milling, Plastic Moulding etc and whole manufacturing process from raw material management to packaging and quality control of final product.”

Limit gauging is a method of checking dimensions in which a fixed gauge is applied to the work in order to determine whether a given component lies within its limits. Gauges are inspection tools of rigid design, without a scale, which used to check the dimensions of manufactured components.
A coordinate measuring machine, also known as a CMM, is a piece of equipment that measures the geometries of physical objects. CMMs using a probing system to detect discreet points on the surfaces of objects. The advantages of using CMMs over manual inspections or checks performed with conventional metrology instruments, such as micrometers and height gauges, are: accuracy, speed and the reduction of human error.
Profile projectors (optical comparators) are a type of optical measuring instrument. The measurement principle is similar to that of optical microscopes. The target is placed on the stage, and a light is shined on the target from underneath. This causes the target's profile, or shadow, to be projected on the screen
A roughness tester is used to quickly and accurately determine the surface texture or surface roughness of a material. A roughness tester shows the measured roughness depth (Rz) as well as the mean roughness value (Ra) in micrometers or microns (µm).
Hardness is a characteristic of a material, not a fundamental physical property. It is defined as the resistance to indentation, and it is determined by measuring the permanent depth of the indentation. More simply put, when using a fixed force (load)* and a given indenter, the smaller the indentation, the harder the material. Indentation hardness value is obtained by measuring the depth or the area of the indentation using one of over 12 different test methods.
We are thankful for all our faculties for organizing such an Informative event for us in crucial for development of our practical skills regarding tool and die making and other activities. We got the knowledge on different types of machines used in UKAY and had an opportunity to research on it. We hope to get more chances further to have such an informative and wonderful experiences of visiting different industries.
